As such, the first step in the process is a comprehensive examination to evaluate the state of your occlusion, evaluate any problems that may exist, and discuss our recommendations for the best options for you. If Invisalign is the best option for you, diagnostic records and an intraoral scan will be performed to further develop your treatment plan. We then work with Invisalign to design and fabricate your aligners. Each set of aligners are typically worn for two weeks and we progress through the entire series until your teeth are straight. We periodically monitor your progress during this time to ensure that your teeth are moving properly and to make adjustments as needed.
In order to improve the ability of aligners to move teeth, we can place tooth colored attachments (small bumps) on teeth to improve the grip of the aligners. They are made of a tooth colored composite material that is often difficult to see. Upon completion of treatment they are easily removed.
Interproximal reduction (IPR) is the process in which we can create a small amount of space between your teeth to aid in our ability to align your teeth properly and reduce crowding.
