Dr. Robert W. Wilson (known as “Dr. Rob”) joined the practice in 2006. He grew up in Winchester, where he spent 12 years in the public school system. While in high school, he was very active in both sports and the music program. Dr. Rob attended the University of Notre Dame for college and received his BS in Pre-Professional Science. He went on to attend the Harvard School of Dental Medicine for his dental training. While in dental school he was an active participant in student government as Vice President, as well as participated in local community service programs. Dr. Rob’s research interests in dental school were in the area of psychophysiology, in particular studying the physiologic reactions of patients to their own self-perception. Upon completion of his dental training at Harvard, Dr. Rob attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics. At Tufts, his research interests were in slow palatal expansion using the Quad Helix appliance. Dr. Rob is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Rob truly is passionate about orthodontics, teaching, the community, and helping others. He is a Part-Time Faculty Member at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Department of Orthodontics, where he enjoys teaching residents both in the classroom and on the clinic floor. It is in the academic setting that he is able to bring together his 80+ year family tradition in orthodontics with many of the current treatment modalities being developed today. Outside of the university setting, Dr. Rob can be found giving talks to students at local schools and health fairs on the digestive system, dental anatomy, and dental health. Dr. Rob also enjoys giving back by sponsoring scholarships for graduating high school students, as well as by supporting many local school programs, after-school curriculums, music programs, and sports programs.
In his free time, Dr. Rob enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have 3 kids, a Bernedoodle, and backyard chickens…all of which keep them very busy! When he has time, he enjoys boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, and watching Notre Dame Football (his alma mater).
